About “Rice and Coffee”

The essence of this blog (in three easy steps):

  • Coffee:  I love coffee.  Love it.  It’s fantastic.  I cannot survive a morning without the ritual of brewing a pot of coffee.  It is an essential beat in the rhythm of my American life.
  • Rice: I spent my late twenties in China working as a teacher in an international school in Yunnan.  This experience profoundly shaped who I am as a person and how I view the world.  It is an experience that I would never undo.
  • Rice and Coffee: This is the story of my life–or snippets of it–and how I make sense of my “Rice” memories and experiences in my “Coffee” world.
